Mudvayne Brings L.D. 50 Anniversary Tour to San Antonio

San Antonio's Boeing Center turned into a time machine Sunday night as Mudvayne came totown on their L.D. 50 25th Anniversary Tour. The evening was a celebration of nu metal's golden era, with Static-X and Vended delivering performances that proved the genre's influence spans generations.

Vended opened the night with an aggressive set that had the crowd moving from the first note. The young band channeled heavy Slipknot energy, which isn't surprising considering two members are sons of Slipknot musicians. The opening set primed the audience for the nostalgia-fueled main acts to come.

Static-X brought their 25th anniversary celebration of Wisconsin Death Trip to life with a visually stunning performance. The theatrics were on full display: foam shooting from the stage, a towering Frankenstein-like creature stalking the stage, and their vocalist commanding attention in his signature robot mask with glowing red eyes. Hits like "Cold" and "Push It" had the crowd singing every word, proving these songs have lost none of their power over the past 25 years..

When Mudvayne took the stage, frontman Chad Gray emerged in his usual blood-splattered overalls while bassist Ryan Martinie's red devil-horned hair was impossible to miss. The band delivered a hefty portion of L.D. 50, along with fan favorites like "Not Falling," "Happy," and "Dull Boy." The crowd was fully engaged throughout, cheering, shouting, and singing along to every track.
