Celebrating ten years of Peripheral Vision, Turnover brought their emotional dream-pop to a sold out crowd to the Aztec Theatre in downtown San Antonio.

The night opened with Horse Jumper of Love, whose slowcore sound warmed up the crowd. Playing fan favorites like “Ugly Brunette” and “Orange Peeler,” their set was a dissonant start to a stacked lineup.

Balance and Composure followed with a tighter, heavier set, drawing mostly from their latest album With You In Spirit. Songs like “Cross To Bear” and “Reflection” showcased the band’s evolution while holding onto the intensity that made them beloved in the first place.

Turnover frontman Austin Getz told the crowd that San Antonio is his favorite city to play. He shared a memory of a 2011 house show, calling it his favorite show he’s ever played. It’s not the first time he’s told that story either. At Levitation 2023 in Austin, he asked if anyone in the crowd was from San Antonio before launching into the same anecdote. Given Turnover’s faithfulness to the legendary Ten Eleven venue at the start of their career, it’s remains a mystery which house they played that night.

As the twelfth stop on a nearly sold out 38-date tour, the Aztec’s 1,000-plus capacity venue was packed with fans singing along to every word. The setlist leaned heavily into Peripheral Vision, but also included newer material. Notable songs included “Dizzy on the Comedown” and “New Scream.”
