White Denim Closes West Coast Tour at Stable Hall

Austin psychedelia made its way down Interstate 35 on Sunday night as White Denim closed out the final show of the West Coast leg of their tour with a performance at San Antonio’s Stable Hall.

Despite a modest turnout, White Denim played with full force, blending garage rock grit with jazz-informed improvisation and psych-funk flair. The band’s signature controlled chaos coursed through a setlist that was as frenetic as it was finely tuned.

Opening the night was Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band, fellow Austinites known for their brain-melting fusion of prog and psych. With spiraling flute solos and sudden, whiplash tempo shifts, the band conjured a fever dream that felt like it could have been plucked from a lost Frank Zappa reel.
