Selling out quick: Levitation’s Halloween Freakend is This Friday

Levitation has a tendency to throw some of the sickest shows of the year.

This year alone, they’ve hosted Austin Psych Fest at the Far Out Lounge, featuring acts like Dinosaur Jr., Kim Gordon, and Explosions in the Sky. Their flagship LEVITATION fest at the Palmer Events Center offered a 360-degree immersive psychedelic experience and featured headliners such as Mastodon, TV on the Radio, and Pavement.

In previous years, the four-day fest has taken over the last weekend of October. Often, the stars aligned, coinciding with Halloween weekend and festivalgoers in costume were just part of the experience. Even the bands have gotten in on the fun: Japanese Breakfast dressed up as Squid Game characters, Shannon and the Clams appeared as clowns and witches, APTBS on a Dracula getup and Sasami sported striking evil ghoul costume with katanas.

Despite the debut of the Palmer venue earning plenty of praise, some fans felt there was a lingering void, the absence of the Halloween element.

To keep that spirit alive, Levitation in conjunction with Resound Presents announced their Halloween Freakend, a two-day fest at the Far Out Lounge featuring Viagra Boys, Stereolab, Machine Girl, and Clown Core. Other artists include the incredible Lightning Bolt, Lip Critic, Bitchin’ Bajas, Black Moth Super Rainbow, and Austin-based acts Porcelain, Haha Laughing, and J’cuzzi. It’s shaping up to be one of the best weekends for psych music in Texas.

Weekend and Day 2 passes are still available in very limited supply as Day 1 has sold out — so grab your tickets HERE!
